Schools are under great pressure to perform well during end of Key Stage assessments. We know only too well the benefits of doing well and also the challenges faced by schools that for a multitude of reasons don't do as well as expected.
We developed ACHIEVE because we use past papers to support our children through the expectations of the examination process. We believe using ACHIEVE twice a year is a good balance between assessment and curriculum pressures, allowing enough time for children to become secure with the rudiments of the assessment process and not too onerous that you narrow your curriculum offer - the key, we've found, is in what we do with the data.
We didn't always use the information we had though diagnostically enough to support the quality of teaching in the classroom. ACHIEVE helps us do this, not teaching to the test (we're dead against that) but being smarter with the information and data we have enabling our pupils to do their very best.
